The North Fork American River is a beautiful and serene place to hike. There are many trails that wind through the forest and offer many spots for river access.
One of our favorite things about living in the Sierra Foothills is there is multiple river access spots within minutes from our home.
When we lived down the hill we would have to travel miles to find a seclude spot to unwind. Now we just get in the car and are there within minutes and most of the time we have the place to ourselves.
One of our regular spots is the Mineral Bar Campground, located just minutes from Colfax on the North Fork American River.
It is a great place to go on a weekday because it’s usually loaded with tourist during the weekends
Take some time out of your day to get outside. We often pack up dinner and grab a picnic table and enjoy the view.
