Nothing better than waking up on a Sunday in Truckee at the property! Sunday’s are a day to pause and think about the past week and the new one right in front of you! That’s usually when we are coming down the hill from Truckee!
We love Truckee! It’s a little less than an hour from home and it’s the best Friday night drive “home” ever! As soon as we get into town I feel happy to see our little spot.
On Sunday’s I get up early so I can be still and wait for the deer. I make my coffee and grab a jacket and try and stay warm before they show up! I am buying a salt lick next year as I hear that keeps them around! That and peanut butter. At least that’s what the Internet said! Ha! I was quickly reminded that may attract a bear too!

Truckee, California, is a great spot to hang out just 25 minutes to Lake Tahoe and about an hour and a half to Sacramento. They have great food, live music, and lots of beer and wine opportunities!
It a great place to live and you will love how beautiful it is even if it is just for the weekend. Many people live here full time and there are lots of weekenders with vacation spots to call home!
